We are all born with meaning; these meanings serve as the essential contributions to a fulfilled life journey. We enter this world unknown, yet we are destined to be something greater than our current state.
However, we eventually encounter the most pressing of questions; “Who am I?” We ask this not because we are lost within ourselves, but because our greatest concern is not our identity, it is what can be created from that identity. We must ask: What meaning can we bring into existence?

This is the most complex aspect of our lives, as is the potential held within our daily wishes and actions. These facets of existence turn into questions that our lives have yet to explain, and sometimes, no answer is given until the very end.
I was born at a desperate moment, left questioning which direction my life was to take. I knew who I was, but I struggled to see what my identity could produce. Who was I born to be? What truly measures my existence against what I am capable of becoming? Our greatest fear of being lost comes not from a lack of self-knowledge, but from a misunderstanding of the direction we are meant to take.

It is not that we are confused about who we are, but rather that we misunderstand the direction our identity is meant to take. Our desperation to be and do more is what separates us from the limitations of our own history.
The whole new world we all dream of, and the realization of those dreams, is found in the way our greatness serves. Our hope is transformed by our desperation to be more and do more, turning our hidden potential into a shared reality.

There are seasons when the weight of the world makes greatness feel like a mirage. When our stomachs are buried in hunger, our lips thirst for water, and our struggle becomes only survival, our destiny feels like a promise of failure. In those moments of exhaustion, impossibility becomes our only measure for greatness. We judge our potential by our current lack.

Yet, even within the shadows of that desperation, the seed of our true self remains. If the measure of our greatness is found within, we must remain self-assured that this identity was destined to flourish in whatever direction our journey requires regardless of the hunger, thirst, or struggles we endure. One day, our future will awaken to the realization of that greatness.

Regardless of our roles, we all harbor questions about our reasons for being and the hope that sustains us. The more we grow, the more we desire to achieve. This drive is what separates the ordinary from those desperate for possibility. Within each of us sits a spirit that craves something greater. Even if we tell ourselves and others that we aren’t interested in “greatness,” deep down, greatness is our true identity and our dignity.
Every aspect of my life reveals where I am headed and the possibilities required to get there. To find our way, we must ask:
What more can we do to truly accomplish our goals?
How much time must we invest before realizing that our current actions may not be our true responsibility?

If we must seek the meaning of our lives, who should we ask, and why?
Society has set standards that determine our responsibilities, often equating effort with performance. But are there rules to knowing our true meaning? If a path exists, who defined the rules? We must decide if purpose is found within us or without us. The answer is self-defined, found in our interests and the unique responsibility we choose to carry in the world around us.
If the answers lie within, we must look for the commitments that allow us to become our truest selves. What if we fail to realize who we are? How accountable are we for the world we leave behind? The world is not a distant concern; it is shaped by the small initiatives we engage in today. By accepting these initiatives as our responsibility, we create a new standard of life for ourselves and for generations to come.

That whole new world we all envision, and the true realization of those aspirations, is established in the way our greatness serves the world around us. Our hope is redefined by our desperation to be more and do more, shifting our hidden potential into a shared reality for the future.
